The MotoGP is the main international motorcycle Championship with a season of 18 GPs, taking place in 16 countries and involving the most important manufacturers such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati, Aprilia and KTM, with teams of elite riders from all over the world. The motorbikes used in the MotoGP are prototypes built just for the competition, they are not available to the public, and can not be legally driven on public roads. The World Championship on the road, organized for the first time by the Federation of International Motorcycling (FIM) in 1949, is administered by the commercial rights holders, Dorna Sports, under the supervision of the FIM since 1992.
It is the Motor-World Championship with most history among all those in existence.
